Modelling Paste-
​
- 113g 'Frog' green modelling paste.
-
45g Body
-
40g Head
-
16g Back legs
-
12g Front legs

- 7g White
- 3g Dark Green
- 3g Blue
- 1g Black
Tools -
​
Balling tool
Dresden tool
Small paintbrush for gluing
Size 0 paintbrush for painting.
Sharp knife
Cool boiled water (for gluing things together)

Step one - Body
Take 45g of 'frog' green modelling paste, roll into a teardrop, place on the work surface and gently flatten the top slightly with your finger tip.

Step two - Legs
Take 16g of 'frog' green modelling paste and divide equally into two pieces.
Roll each piece into a small fat sausage as shown on the left.
Roll the paste backwards and forwards between your thumb and forefinger to narrow and lengthen the leg as shown on the right.

Bend over each foot and pinch out each heel at the back as shown.

Bend over the leg.
Flatten the foot slightly with your fingertip.
Use the smoothing end of the Dresden tool to mark two grooves on each foot as shown.

Use the tip if the veining end of the Dresden tool to gently mark two small grooves as shown on each foot.

Stick the legs into place as shown.

Step three - Front legs
Take 12g of 'frog' green modelling paste and divide equally into two.
Roll each piece into a sausage that is thicker at one end, as shown on the left, to start to form the foot.
Bend over each foot, pinch out the heel at the back of the foot and gently flatten the sole of each foot. As shown on the right.

Gently flatten each foot using your fingertips.
Shape each foot in the same way that you did for the back legs, only this time leave the legs straight.

Stick the legs into place as shown.

Step four - Head
Take 4g of 'frog' green modelling paste.
Roll into the shape as shown.

Gently pinch the top of the head between your thumb and forefinger to create the shape shown below,

Pinch in gently at each side again using your thumb and forefinger to create the top of the head as shown.

Use the veining end of the Dresden tool to gently score the mouth.

Use the large end of the balling tool to gently push in and mark where the eyes will sit.

Stick the head into place as shown.

Take 6g of white modelling paste, divide equally into two.
Roll each piece into a ball and stick into place.

Roll two small balls of black modelling paste and press them gently into place.
Take two tiny balls of white modelling paste and stick them into place as shown.

Step five - Finishing touches
Take a small amount of the dark green modelling paste, roll tiny balls of various sizes and stick them randomly all over the head and body to decorate as shown.

Take 3g of blue modelling paste, roll it into a thin sausage, long enough to go around the neck.

Use the smoothing end of the Dresden tool to gently press in and mark along the length of the paste as shown.

Stick the collar into place as shown.

Take 1g of dark green modelling paste, divide equally into two.
Roll each piece into a small sausage that is tapered at each end, as shown.

Stick each eyebrow into place as shown.
Dilute a little of the dark green food colour with some water and paint the inside of the mouth as shown.

Your frog is now complete!
