Step one - Body
Take 25g of orange modelling paste, knead and soften to warm up, roll into a ball. Place the ball on the work surface and use the palm of your hand to gently flatten, to create a disc around 1cm thick as shown.

Take 75g of orange modelling paste, knead and soften to warm up and roll into a ball. Place the ball on the work surface and using the palm of your hand flatten the ball slightly so that you have the shape as shown below.

Apply a small amount of water to the top of the small disc and gently place the larger one on top as shown.

To create the 'crab' shaped body, gently press, smooth and flatten one side of the paste with the palm of your hand as shown.

Take the smoothing end of the Dresden tool, holding it flat side up gently push into the front of the crab to create a mouth as shown.

Step two - Claws and Legs
Take 16g of orange modelling paste and divide equally into two. Roll each piece fist into a short teardrop as shown on the left. Then taper the widest end on each claw by rolling between your finger and thumb as shown on the right.

Take a sharp knife and make a small diagonal cut into the widest end of each teardrop as shown on the left. Smooth the cut with your fingertips to remove any knife marks. Roll the tip between your finger and thumb to tapers as shown on the right.

Repeat for the other claw remembering to make sure you have two opposites!

Take 6g of orange modelling paste and divide equally into 6 small pieces. Roll each piece first into a ball. Then into an elongated teardrop. Bend each teardrop in half. Gently pinch the knee between your thumb and forefinger to finish shaping the leg as shown.

Use a small amount of water to attach the legs and claws as shown.

Take a small amount of paprika edible tint and use a flat paintbrush to shade the crabs body as shown. Add a little at a time to build up the colour.

Repeat the process on the claws and legs. Again start with a small amount of colour and build up in layers.

Take a small amount of the white edible tint and mix well with a couple of drops of water to create a smooth paint. Use a paintbrush to gently stipple small amounts of the white over the shell, legs and claws as shown.

Step three - Eyes and finishing touches
Take 6g of white modelling paste, divide equally into two and roll both into balls. Make two tiny balls of black modelling paste. Stick the white eyes into place fist with a small amount of water and then attach the black balls. Roll two tiny pieces of black modelling paste into long thin strands, tapered at one end. To create the eyebrows

Stick the eyebrows into place as shown. Roll two tiny white balls of paste and stick onto the blacks of the eyes as shown. Stick tiny ball into the back of the crabs mouth using the Dresden tool to push it into place.

Take 4g of green modelling paste and divide roughly into five pieces of varying sizes. Roll each piece into an elongated teardrop shape as shown.

Use 7g of grey modelling paste to create small pebbles of various sizes. Roll them into balls and flatten and pinch to get the desired shapes. Group the seaweed together and flatten the bottom to get them to stand up. Bend and shape the tips to create movement as shown. Surround them by pebbles.

You can make as many or as few as you like! Position them surrounding the crab.

To create the sand, crush three rich tea biscuits with your rolling pin.

Sit the crab and decorations on the biscuit sand and you're finished!
